Glaucoma is a kind of eye disease, which result in damage to the optic nerve and vision loss. Theoptic nerve is an important nerve in human eyes (Located in the back of eye ball), it is responsiblefor transmitting electronic impulse to human brains. The damage is usually caused by the raise ofintraocular pressure. This damage can gradually hurt human's visual field until blind. However,this disease can be detected and prevented if people can check their eyes at regular intervals.Because of the eye checking instruments are generally expensive and some people might not beable to afford that (especially in those developing countries). So the purpose of this app is tryingto create an alternative way for people to check their eyes, which is more convenient andcheaper. The ideal version of this app is that it can perform on any smart phones and tabletswithout any extra hardware to support its functionality. If we successfully developed the app likewe thought, it will revolutionize the ability to detect and prevent the eye disease of glaucoma.
